Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School Fairy Meadow acknowledges and pays respect to the Dharawal and Gweagal people past and present, the traditional custodians of the lands on which our school is built.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Welcome Barbeque on Monday evening certainly spoke volumes about the sense of community we have here at Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School Fairy Meadow. It was wonderful to engage with many families and hear their hopes of the year ahead. A big thank you to Jas Sidhu, owner of Outback Steakhouse, Fairy Meadow for providing the steak sandwiches at a discounted rate and the Parents and Friends Association for subsidisng the remaining cost. With over 350 people, it was a huge community success!
Following the barbeque our 2025 Building Project was unveiled. This is an exciting time for Good Samaritan with a 3.7million refurbishment, ensuring that we will have contemporary and updated learning spaces. In addition to this a digital sign will be installed on the Princes Highway and an Adventure Playground on the school grounds. A display will be made available in the office in the coming weeks for those parents who were not available to attend the meeting. A consultative parent committee has also been formed, as we move into the design phase of the project.
Thank you to Alison McCarthy, Katie Bonnor & Olivia De Santis for being parent representatives of the Building Consultative Community
At this meeting we also elected our Parents and Friends executive. I would like to acknowledge the 2024 executive for their tireless work

Year 6 Enrolments for Confirmation
In collaboration with St Brigid’s and Good Samaritan Parish Schools, we invite all parents and children in our Parish to be part of the Lumen Christi Parish Sacramental program for 2025.
Receiving the Sacraments is a very blessed time in our journey of faith, and it is the means by which baptised children can complete their journey into full membership of the Catholic Church. They are community events, which remind us of the role of the parish community in the development of our life of faith, hope, and love.
Our Catholic Schools and Parish are here to help you as parents in your vocation to make known the light and love of God to your children.
Enrolments have now opened for Confirmation 2025 and will close on Friday 11th April 2025.
Shrove Tuesday – A Time for Preparation and Reflection
Dear Parents and Students,
As we approach Shrove Tuesday (March 9) , also known as Pancake Day, we take a moment to reflect on its meaning and significance in our faith.
Shrove Tuesday marks the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, a special season of prayer, fasting, and giving. The word “shrove” comes from the old English word “shrive”, which means to confess sins and receive forgiveness. Traditionally, Christians would use this day to prepare their hearts for Lent by seeking reconciliation and using up rich foods like eggs, milk, and sugar—hence the tradition of eating pancakes!
At school, we encourage students to see Shrove Tuesday not just as a fun day for pancakes, but as a reminder to reflect on kindness, generosity, and making good choices in preparation for Lent. It’s an opportunity to think about how we can grow closer to God and show love to others through our words and actions.
As we enjoy our pancakes, let us also remember the deeper meaning of this day—a call to renewal, reflection, and preparing our hearts for the journey of Lent.
Wishing you all a blessed start to the Lenten season

End of Day Dismissal
Dismissal time is an important part of our school day, and we want to ensure a smooth and safe process for all students. Please remember that students will not be dismissed until the 3:00 pm bell. Students on car lines will be the only students in Year 1-6 dismissed at 2:55pm.
For Term 1 only, Kindergarten students will be dismissed slightly earlier at 2:55 pm to allow for a more gradual transition. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these dismissal times.

FREE WEBINARS FOR PARENTS AND CARERS:
Free Online Respect Workshop for Parents and Carers
Do you know what’s influencing your kids? With young people spending so much time online, what they see and do can impact their behaviours and beliefs. Online disrespect is one of the ways violence-supportive attitudes can start to develop.
Stop it at the Start has partnered with Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman to help parents, carers, and other significant adults of young people aged 10-17 understand how the online world influences views on respect and gender. The workshop also shares practical ways to build relationships and start important conversations.
Join facilitators Ryder Jack and Kasey Miles for a free, interactive, evidence-based 90-minute session focused on connecting with young people, fostering healthier masculinity, and providing families with practical tools for everyday use.
Join the Respect Starts Now workshop to gain tools, spark real change, and build deeper connections.
