Dear Parents and Carers of Good Samaritan,
With the school year ending this week, I remain incredibly thankful to our parent community who continue to support us in proactive and constructive ways. Many people support the school each day. They do it selflessly and without any effort or expectation of accolades but I feel it is very important to mention just a few at this time of the year.
- To our P&F executive and those who voluntarily support the P&F, your continued support and encouragement for all that is done at Good Samaritan is very much appreciated.
- To our parents who partnered with us as we worked through remote learning together - without your continued commitment our students would not have experienced the success in learning that they did
- To Matisse Schettino and Christian Lopresti our 2021 School Captains; Noah Kennedy, Evie Purcell, Cohen Vazey, Emma Wells, Finley Cole and Mikayala Gaudiosi our 2021 Vice Captains - their commitment to the role and their school throughout the year has shown that they certainly have the qualities that our leaders of tomorrow will need.
- Thank you to our Year 6 students who are now ready to continue their educational journey into High School. I believe that each one of these students is leaving as a testament to Good Samaritan. They have been outstanding as our Year 6 leaders throughout 2021. A terrific group of Good Samaritan boys and girls.
- To our school support staff, both in the office and the classrooms - their commitment to their work and their diligence in ensuring that the school runs smoothly is quite extraordinary.
- To Bishop Brian and Fr Bernard Gordon - our appreciation of their support of the school is immeasurable. We are indeed blessed to have these men as the clergy of Good Samaritan.
- To our Good Samaritan teaching staff. These men and women come to work every day to offer every child in every lesson the opportunity to grow and succeed. They are a passionate group of individuals who have, throughout the year, strived towards the aim of assisting the our Good Samaritan boys and girls to move confidently forward.
- And lastly, but certainly not least, to you - the person reading this newsletter. Your interest in, and support of, the school and the Good Samaritan community is very much appreciated. We cannot effectively operate without strong community support.
I wish you every blessing for a peaceful and joy filled Christmas.
As we journey into the Christmas season, together with Jesus,

Wollongong & Fairy Meadow SVDP Conferences would like to sincerely thank the Good Samaritan school community for their ongoing & generous support of our annual Christmas Hamper drive.
The quality & quantity of items received & shared between the two Conferences went a long way to fulfilling our target of 70 plus substantial hampers for distribution to our disadvantaged clients who requested our assistance to bring a little joy & happiness to their lives at Christmas.
We, along with the families & individuals who receive our hampers, truly appreciate your support, especially in a year that has been particularly challenging for all.
Wishing all a joyful Christmas & New Year together with a truly relaxing & enjoyable holiday.
Best regards,
Larry Jennett & Bill Caruana

Poppets Direct Schoolwear is now Good Samaritan’s official uniform supplier. Poppets are working hard to ensure that uniforms supply is ready for the new school year. It is important that parents understand that the supply of uniforms from overseas manufacturers has been slowed by the pandemic. We may experience some delay in some items of our uniform for this reason. Please be patient as Poppets work to provide the uniform for our students.
All items of the school uniform are compulsory. This includes the jumper, ribbons and socks - all of which make the uniform distinctive to Good Samaritan.
Please remember that when buying shoes for school that they are what is required within our uniform policy. Joggers that are predominantly white are to be worn for sport and fitness. They must be predominantly white and may be lace up or velcro. No slip on ‘Raben’ type shoes, indoor soccer boots or coloured joggers are to be worn. Pictorial examples of appropriate joggers are shown here.
Please note the change to Sports Days in 2022. All students will wear sports uniforms every Tuesday. Students will also wear sports uniforms for grade physical education lessons as indicated below.

2021 has certainly been a year that we will remember for a whole variety of reasons. Our talented teachers, Mrs Nuttall and Mrs Bannnenburg led all the classes in the making of a magnificent banner. The children were all given a colourful rectangle upon which they sewed their name. The rectangles are arranged in grade order to mark the classes who have experienced an extraordinary year of education.
