Library News:

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR LIBRARY?
Lessons in digital citizenship.
All classes from Year 1 - Year 6 are learning about being responsible, respectful and safe online.  They are learning that just as we need to show behaviours that are responsible, safe and respectful when we are offline, we also need to show these behaviours when online and connecting with others using digital devices.  It is hoped that students are coming home and talking about the things they are learning during their library sessions. Years 4, 5 & 6 have between session tasks to complete so that they can remember the work they are completing the next session. Thankyou.png
Thank you
We wish to thank Mrs Sarah Douglas who has assisted us in organising Scholastic Book Club over the past few years. It has been most appreciated that she volunteered her time to organise and distribute the orders.
We wish to thank all our parents who pop in and offer their time to cover books for us.  They regularly come upstairs to the library, carry their box of books home and return them promptly once they are done.  Words cannot express our appreciation for these parents.
We welcome Mrs Gracanin who has graciously accepted this volunteer role and look forward to working with her.  Mrs Gracanin has been one of our dedicated parent helpers assisting in covering books.
Helpers needed, please.

If there are any parents who would like to volunteer their time in covering books, please pop in and see Mrs Cook.  We have a few that will be ready to be covered on Friday this week.
Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier's Reading Challenge is set to begin again in the next few weeks.  Kinder to Year 2 complete this challenge in their classroom with their teachers and Years 3 - 6 complete the challenge independently.  Any books the students are reading now can count towards their achievements, so keep track of the title and author of the books they are reading so they can be added when the challenge officially begins.
More information will be included in next week's newsletter.

Book Club orders - Due Thursday 20 February
Last week the students took home their Issue 1 Scholastic Book Club brochures. Please be reminded that Good Samaritan accepts online Book Club orders ONLY through Scholastic's LOOP site (ie. no cash orders through the school office).
Thank you to our parents who have already placed their online orders. Ordering through LOOP is easy-register at scholastic.com.au/LOOP and follow the prompts.
The deadline for all LOOP orders is Thursday (20 February). There is no need to return any paper forms to the school. Your child's books will be sent to their classroom when the orders arrive.
