PRINCIPAL'S DESK:

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the past two weeks, our school has participated in a process known as Cyclic Inquiry. This occurs every four years and involves the school commissioning a report and hosting an external panel of educational experts on site for two days. The panel’s role is to affirm our work and collaborate with our Leadership Team to set priorities for the years ahead.

I wish to thank Fr Bernard, as well as the parents, students, and staff representatives who met with the panel. I was humbled by the feedback, which highlighted the strong sense of welcome and community at Good Samaritan, our shared understanding of the school’s vision and values, and the strength of our Catholic identity. The panel also noted the calm learning environment across the school and our positive behaviour data.

Looking forward, key priorities will include advancing our work in the high-performing and gifted education space, ensuring all students are challenged  to reach their full potential, and continuing to help each child grow in both faith and learning.

In addition, as part of the Tell Them From Me feedback from parents, staff, and students, the Leadership Team has actioned the following:

  1. Opportunities at playtime for cross-age experiences, with K–6 shared spaces.
  2. Across the road as an “Option” for Years 2-6 at Lunch and Recess
  3. Additional equipment for our primary students, including volleyball nets and bocce sets.
  4. Implementation of Seesaw across K to 6  to provide parents with a window into their child’s classroom learning.
  5. A review of the homework and uniform policy, with parent input, scheduled for Term 4, 2025.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to make Good Samaritan the best possible environment for our children’s growth.

Sincerely
Pauline Chrostowski
Principal
