FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:
Dear Parents and Carers of Good Samaritan,
As we come to the end of Term 3, I’d like to extend thanks to our Good Samaritan community for an incredible ten weeks of improvements in faith and learning. Our students have made impressive strides in reading fluency, demonstrating their commitment to improvement across the school. Some of our Year 3 students received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Science Week and the Berry Camp were a highlight for Year 6, while Book Week inspired a love for reading throughout all grades.
Our Athletics carnival and soccer and basketball gala days were a fantastic success—thank you, Mrs. Olima, for your hard work in organising these events. We also had a wonderful P&F Trivia Night and successful Father’s Day events, thanks to our dedicated P&F committee and all who offered their assistance and support.
Please take time during the school holiday period to do the things that bring you and your family joy and I look forward to seeing everyone return to school on Monday 14th October.

2024 marks the 45th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi being named the patron saint of ecology. To mark the end of the Season of Creation on St Francis’ Feast Day, you may wish to pray the Prayer of St Francis as a family:
Peace Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen
Mrs Lisa Tyson
