Representative Sport - Netball

On the 15th and 16th August, Lucas M competed at the NSW State All Schools Boys Netball Trials as part of the inaugural South Coast boys team. Although Lucas didn't get selected for the NSW team, he is to be highly commended for the great sportsmanship shown throughout the trials. Lucas took on the Goal Attack position and his enthusiasm and teamwork is to be congratulated. An outstanding result for Lucas who is new to the sport.

Sydney Swifts Netball Skills Session

Ainslie won a QBE competition for herself and 3 netball friends to attend a skills session with two Sydney Swift players and coaches.

On Wednesday 7 August, Ainslie, Emily, Katie and Eva travelled to Sydney Olympic Park for a 1 1/2 hour session with Paige Hadley and Allie Smith from the Sydney Swifts. The girls loved it and were very tired afterwards. The players commented that the girls asked very good questions. Well done girls, what an amazing experience!

Soccer Gala Day

The soccer gala day is designed primarily for student enjoyment of the sport, for the promotion of exercise, skills, development of social and emotional capabilities and a positive sporting experience. It sure did tick all of these boxes and was a fantastic success!

The gala day was held at Dalton Park on Friday 23 August. Good Samaritan had 120 students participating from Years 3 – 6 against St Therese, St Columbkille’s and St Brigid’s. The students of Good Samaritan competed fairly and showed great sportsmanship and respect for their opponents. With the support and guidance of their parent managers, the students organised themselves well within their teams ensuring that everyone was able to contribute successfully to their team. The spirit with which students participated made us all proud!

As convenor of the day, the event was wonderfully organised by Mrs Olima and ran smoothly under her guidance. We extend a big thank you to Mrs De Santis for coordinating the canteen, along with the parent volunteers who helped out, and the parent managers who led their teams so effectively. The beautiful weather added to the joy of the day!
