FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:

Dear Parents and Carers of Good Samaritan,

Good Samaritan has been engaged in the complex task of rewriting our Vision and Mission to better suit the school's alignment to Benedictine Values.

The original Vision and Mission, whilst fit for purpose when the amalgamation between St Francis Xavier's and St John Vianney's occurred, no longer provides specificity around what we aim for and what we do on a daily basis. After ongoing discussions and consultation, I am delighted to present to you our renewed Vision and mission for Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School:

Our Vision:

Encountering Jesus and celebrating learning.

 Our Mission:

We are committed to creating an inclusive and compassionate community where faith and learning are nurtured. We live by the core Benedictine values of Stewardship, Hospitality, Community and Love of Christ and Neighbour.

Our school Musical, held last Thursday evening, was an outstanding success. Our students performed brilliantly, and were so proud of themselves. I extend my thanks to Mrs Jenny Jancetic for her vision and talent in bringing this wonderful event to fruition. I extend a huge thank you to Andrew Craig for giving the Acknowledgement of Country with his son Xavier and for playing the didgeridoo, and to Alison and Michael McCarthy who played the flute and guitar to accompany the choir.

I also thank our parents and visitors for your generosity in supporting St Vincent DePaul. We raised $522.30 - an amount that will be put to very good use to support those in our community who are experiencing difficult times this Winter.

Condolences

I extend the condolences of our school community to Mrs Cecilia Medina, our Library School Support Officer, on the passing of her husband, Juan Medina.
Please keep Cecilia in your prayers at this difficult time.
Eternal light grant upon him, oh Lord,
May he rest in peace
Amen

Mrs Lisa Tyson

Acting Principal
