FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:

Dear Parents and Carers of Good Samaritan,
The staff of Good Samaritan are working with your children to reach our Annual Improvement Goal:
“All students will achieve growth and confidence in reading fluency.”
To read fluently is to read expressively with accuracy and at a good pace. Fluent reading allows the development of automatic word recognition skills and reading comprehension.
I invite you to read regularly with your child, regardless of their age.
Please use the time during the upcoming school holidays to sit with your child, listen to them read, and model fluent reading to them.
Please read the following important communication from Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW):
The CEDoW Mental Health Support Services Review is an important initiative, aiming to enhance the wellbeing services we provide. With the collaboration of Altum Counselling and Consulting Pty Ltd, we are conducting a thorough evaluation of our current services and support systems. This short survey, which takes only 8-15 minutes to complete, will be conducted with the utmost respect for your time and privacy. Your anonymous contributions will play a crucial role in improving the support systems within our schools, which will have lasting benefits for both students and staff. We thank you for your active participation. Together, we will strengthen the foundations of support and wellbeing within the CEDoW community.
Survey completion date: 16 April
