FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S DESK:
Meet and Greet
Teachers have been meeting with parents during Meet and Greet Sessions and these will continue over the next few weeks.
1 Gold meet and greet sessions will be scheduled later in the term once Mrs Sutton returns.
These sessions are a 10 minute meeting for you to meet your child’s teacher, discuss how your child has settled into the classroom and share any strengths or concerns you may have. It is not an interview to discuss academic progress across all Key Learning Areas.
NAPLAN
Students in Year 3 and 5 started NAPLAN today. Assessments will continue over the coming week. The schedule is below:
Screens Aware Week
Each term during Week 7 we take time to focus on being screen aware across the school community. Time is dedicated to refocus and reteach classroom technology expectations and review the school guidelines for iPad/Computer use.
Parents may like to take an opportunity to rethink or reinforces expectations at home as well. The eSafety Commissioner has a wealth of resources for parents including how to establish good online habits from a young age - Good Habits Start Young.
REMINDER: Harmony Week
Our school will celebrate Harmony Day on Tuesday 19th March. Harmony Day is about promoting inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Students are invited to wear a cultural outfit, or something orange to school on this day. Orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations.
We will have an assembly in the school hall and parents are welcome to attend. The assembly will start promptly at 9:00am.
