From the Assistant Principal's Desk:
On Tuesday we had a successful RUOK? combined with a PB4L day. The focus of the day was listening and the message was: RUOK ? I’m here to hear.
You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
Learning Intention: We will encourage students to look out for their classmates by helping them learn skills to recognise that a friend might not be OK and how to ask the question R U OK?
Start a conversation using these four steps.
- Ask R U OK?
- Listen
- Encourage action
- Check in
Success Criteria: We will be successful if we can:
- Recognise if a classmate is not ok and start a conversation with them.
- Listen if a classmate wants to talk to you about how they are feeling
- Help find a way to support your classmate
- Follow up and check in to see how your classmate is going
