Thank you and congratulations to our year 5 and 6 students who have trained to become Altar Servers in the Lumen Christi Parish. The students trained with Father James and Mr Sergio Ambrosi. Congratulations to our Year 6 Confirmation Candidates. Our church was filled with over 700 people as sixty eight students were confirmed on the weekend by Bishop Brian Mascord with the assistance of Father Bernard and Father James. Twelve  students joined us from varying local state schools. It was a very special moment for our students and our new friends. 

Mrs Sillis couldn’t join the candidates and their families of course as she is still
overseas. However, she took the time to share the following message acknowledging this most important occasion:

Dear Year 6,

Many of you received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday evening,
which takes you on the next journey of coming to know and understand your faith.

This is an important time in your lives where you have said ‘Yes’ to God and
have agreed to live as we are asked to live out the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.

This is now the challenge for you - to recognise the fruits and gifts in yourself

and how to use them for the good of others and yourself.

My very best wishes to you all and I look forward to hearing more about your experience of Confirmation.
