Update from Kindergarten
The Kindergarten students have certainly settled into the school and classroom routines and have been enjoying being part of the Good Samaritan school community with activities such as the Harmony Day Liturgy and Welcome BBQ. The students also really enjoy time with their Year Six Buddies.
In English we are learning to recognise and blend sounds as we embark on the reading journey. We have also enjoyed listening to stories such as Pig the Pug and Thelma the Unicorn.
During Maths, we have been practicing how to form numbers and the properties of numbers 1 to 10.
WEN Primary News
On Friday 24th March Yr 6 students Holly, Ella, Harry and Lola joined primary students from across CEDoW at Our Lady Help of Christians School, Rosemeadow for the Wollongong Environmental Network Day (WEN). They listened to ideas from four schools that shared their environmental journey. Students discussed various ways to improve sustainability at Good Samaritan such as the re-introduction of Waste - Free Days and awareness of electrical waste.
Every student had the chance to make a no-sew bag (from a T-shirt) and listen to a guest speaker from PlasticOceans Australia. They completed the day being commissioned as Eco Ambassadors for their schools.
