Touch Football Gala Day
Yesterday for the first time in a long time the students from Stages Two and Three were able to participate in a gala day, a day just for fun, where the scores don’t matter and the aim of the day is to potentially try something new, meet new friends from other schools and to have fun. Despite a wet and chilly day, a great day was had by all and the best way to keep warm was to keep moving!
There was a huge amount of interest in participating in the gala day but due to the clash with the Diocesan Athletics Carnival unfortunately not all could attend but we still entered nine teams which is an amazing effort. On the day there were some wonderful examples of teamwork, mateship, athleticism and for some a potential new summer sport.
The students all should be very proud of themselves and it was great to hear all of the words and cheers of support. It was also great to see some of our more experienced teams adjust their playing style when playing less experienced teams so that everyone enjoyed the game. As mentioned by Mrs Sillis, one team was playing for their friend and had his name written on the tape on their boots.
Thank you to the parents who assisted and supported on the day.
