Playground and Lunchtime Clubs
Due to the lifted COVID restrictions this week a new playground roster has been introduced. As part of this roster a number of clubs have been established and students will be invited to join during one lunch time a week. School clubs are a great way for students to participate in activities they enjoy, learn new skills, and meet new people. The clubs this term will cater for different needs and skills of students and aim to create a sense of belonging and connection to school.
The groups this term are:
Monday: Technology Club with Mrs Jenny Jancetic, Miss Rae and Mr Collins.
Tuesday: Fitness Club with Mr Gore during the morning duty starting at 8:20am and
Art Club with Mrs McRobert
Wednesday: Choir Club with Mrs McCabe and Mrs Shelley.
Thursday: Garden Club with Mrs Malady and
Friday: da Vinci Club; nominated students will be working towards preparing for the da Vinci Decathlon with Mrs Shirley Jancetic and Mrs Hailstone.
Students will be invited to attend a club that interests them and we hope to engage students to try something new.
We also have a new playground space called Benedict’s Barn which will be a passive playground. This area will have options for students to play quietly or engage in a range of activities. Passive playgrounds are a great way to support students with social skills and social engagement. K-6 students will have access to this area.
There has been great excitement for students to have more space and freedom to explore the school. We look forward to sunny weather to access the playground over the road for students in Years 3-6 and to spend recess and lunch outside.
