Ash Wednesday was celebrated today. It marks the beginning of the season of Lent. During Lent we prepare by prayer, fasting and almsgiving for the joys of Easter. On Ash Wednesday, the ashes, blessed by prayer and holy water will be sprinkled over our heads as a sign of our repentance. The ashes come from the palms blessed for the previous year's Palm Sunday Mass. Today we did not have Ash Wednesday school mass, however students celebrated with a class liturgy and received the ashes in their classrooms.

Jesus reminds us that complete truth can be found in God alone. It is in God that each person can experience the fullness of truth and happiness. Sometimes we can get distracted and become too invested in worldly things. This can lead us to forget about Jesus.

Project Compassion Launch: “For All Future Generations”

On Tuesday 1st march (Shrove Tuesday), ten Stage Three Students represented Good Samaritan for the annual Project Compassion Launch via zoom. These students are now the Ambassadors for the 2022 Project Compassion Launch which is themed “For all Future Generations''. We look forward to spreading the news throughout our school to help raise much needed funds to help our “fellow neighbours” in need.
