Today marks the celebration of the Feast of St Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274).

It is fitting that we begin the school year remembering St Thomas who based much of his philosophical work on that of Aristotle. St Thomas was a teacher, philosopher & lecturer  becoming the patron saint of universities and students. 

St Thomas reminds us that learning takes place when one teaches another. He highlights the importance of direct & explicit instruction in order for the learner to acquire knowledge.
