Dear Parents and Carers of Good Samaritan,

This week we continue the Kindergarten 2022 Orientation sessions. It is just wonderful to see these young  people begin their school journey. They are an absolute delight as they visit the school becoming ready to be a Good Samaritan boy or girl. Every year is just as exciting as the last when we prepare for Kindergarten to begin.

Last week saw the final stages of the Student Leadership process take place.Year 5 students who nominated themselves for Captain and Vice Captain gave their speeches to their Year 5 peers and Year 4. Each speech held something a little bit different but all of them spoke about the commitment that they make to the school each day. 

As with any election, there are those who are successful and those who are not. In preparing for the outcome the students were asked to consider what their reaction would be like if they were to be voted into a leadership position but also how they would react if they weren’t. I was really impressed with the students’ sense of camaraderie as they wished each other well and congratulated one another.

I am very pleased to be able to announce that our School Captains for 2022 are Bonnie Kennedy and Bede O’Donnell.

Our School Vice Captains for 2022 are Ezekial Daszkowski, Maya Smith, Maude Hobbs, Hope Hill, Chloe Olima & Calli Foster.

I look forward to working very closely with each of these students as the new year begins. I am also very grateful to our outgoing Captains and Vice Captains who have established a very strong student  leadership structure for Good Samaritan.
